About

Welcome to Astra Academia

Welcome book lovers, scholars, and curious minds. If you’ve been entranced in a literary wonderland of imagination, whether you’re searching a world to escape to or seek a new adventure, you’ve come to the right place!

One might think this as another book blog for aspiring writers or book critics, who pour their thoughts and emotions of joy or unsatisfactory chagrin down your throats.
Maybe this might be another curated reading lists for romance entangled with bitter rivalries, scandals, and mythical creatures to numb the void of loneliness of your existence.

Although I begin my journey as a sourness to the literary community, I mean this as a love letter from a close admirer with fierce observance.

I love to read books, reviews, and wait anxiously for recommendations from the community!

Though I enjoy modern novels revolving romance, secret societies, and literary fantasy, I have been drawn to the language of classic literature of the past.

It all started with my fourteen-year-old niece reading the American classic, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The book has a timeless portrayals of morality, but uprooting topics of gender and racial roles in the Deep South. I didn’t think that Scout’s childhood memories would strike me differently as an adult.

Re-reading TKAM, I clearly see the problems we face in the U.S. is still relevant, especially topics of racial discrimination and unfair justice. I reflected on the cruelness of our modern society to this profound and beautifully written novel.

Thus, the desire to read classic literature led me to create a project for myself, and hopefully for others to enjoy reading. This blog will examine classic literature, both read from youth and new to me, exploring context of the pieces with reflection.

I’m happy to be able to share my experience with you, while reading literature that shaped our way of thinking from the past to the present. I hope you will also join me in the reading and the rest of this adventure.

Always open your mind to new and old worlds, and Ad Astra per Libras.
